Weight-related comorbidities that lower the BMI threshold If your BMI is 27.0-29.9, you qualify for Mounjaro if you have at least one of these conditions: Cardiovascular and metabolic: Hypertension (blood pressure 130/80 mmHg or higher, or on antihypertensive medication) Dyslipidemia (LDL 130 mg/dL or higher, triglycerides 150 mg/dL or higher, or on statin therapy) Type 2 diabetes (this moves you to the diabetes pathway, which has no BMI minimum) Prediabetes (A1C 5.7%-6.4% or fasting glucose 100-125 mg/dL) Coronary artery disease History of stroke or transient ischemic attack Respiratory: Obstructive sleep apnea (diagnosed by sleep study, not just symptoms) Obesity hypoventilation syndrome Musculoskeletal: Osteoarthritis with documented functional impairment Chronic lower back pain attributable to excess weight Metabolic: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) Reproductive: Infertility related to anovulation and obesity The comorbidity must be documented in your medical record
