The rustication on the bowl is just enough for a comfortable hold whilst the shank and bottom of the bowl remain a smooth finish. There's no fancy band separating the mouthpiece from the stem but that's made up for by the wonderful pattern on the acrylic mouthpiece, it blends beautifully into the pipe.
